About the position

Wayfair's Physical Retail team is seeking a Visual Merchandising Department Supervisor to lead visual components in their first physical retail store in Wilmette, IL. This role involves overseeing daily operations, coaching Visual Specialists and Sales teams, and executing visual merchandising initiatives to enhance the in-store experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual merchandising, leadership, and customer service, contributing to the development of the internal team and processes for future stores.

Responsibilities

• Support the Retail Visual Merchandising Manager with training and development of associates on visual standards and execution.
• Assist in planning and preparation of all Visual Merchandising tasks including daily maintenance and signage.
• Deliver results using business acumen and sales analytics to drive store profitability.
• Provide coaching to associates to support workload and tasks as determined by management.
• Engage with customers to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.
• Manage stock levels and ensure efficient replenishment of products on the sales floor.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of retail experience with a focus on visual merchandising and driving sales.
• 1-3 years of leadership experience motivating a team to achieve business results.
• Experience in the home or furnishings space, preferably in interior design or home goods.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience installing lighting, wallpapering, and furniture assembly.
• Basic electrical wiring experience.
