About the position

The Visitor Information Program Assistant II is responsible for providing assistance and information to travelers at the airport, including details about accommodations, transportation, and tourist attractions. This role requires proficiency in a designated foreign language to effectively communicate with the traveling public and provide interpreter services as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome the traveling public at the airport.
  • Provide information about hotels, accommodations, and transportation options.
  • Disseminate maps, brochures, and periodicals to travelers.
  • Assist travelers with inquiries related to tourist attractions and activities.
  • Speak a designated foreign language while conversing with the public.
  • Provide interpreter services as required.

Requirements

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • One year of work experience providing customer service or hospitality to the traveling public.
  • Ability to speak one of the following languages in addition to English: Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, or Samoan.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license to drive in the State of Hawaii.
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
