About the position
The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is seeking a one-year visiting full-time Assistant Professor of Biochemistry. This role emphasizes in-person undergraduate teaching, community service, and research involvement with students. The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 course load, including Biochemistry, General Biology, General Chemistry, and potentially upper-level courses in biology and biochemistry.
Responsibilities
- Teach Biochemistry, General Biology, and/or General Chemistry courses.
- Involve undergraduates in research activities.
- Devote time to service and professional development.
- Prepare and deliver lectures and course materials for a 4/4 teaching load.
- Engage in campus and community service.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a closely related field (ABD near completion will be considered).
- Commitment to in-person undergraduate teaching.
- Experience working with diverse groups.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in involving undergraduates in research.
- Ability to teach upper-level courses related to the candidate's specialization.
