About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Virtual Desktop Systems Administrator to join their national intelligence program. This role involves delivering engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades, and sustainment of products and services to achieve the client’s global missions. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of VDI infrastructure, including the impact of storage and network connectivity on VDI performance and end-user experience. They will also understand how peripherals and devices affect work within the VDI and how security integrates into the solution without negatively impacting the user experience.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass a Poly clearances.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or PhD with 0 years relevant experience).
  • Additional 4 years experience may be substituted in lieu of a Degree.
  • Previous experience working as a PC Technician, VDI Administrator, or other IT Support roles that provided the experience needed to be successful in the Desktop Systems Admin VDI role.
  • Current CISSP or Security + Certification.
  • US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT I or DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage VDI environments, desktop computers, devices, and systems for the program, including installs, configuration for systems software deployments, upgrade, and patch management.
  • Analyze and make technical recommendations for desktop configuration selection to achieve fit for purpose for end users.
  • Create, maintain, and deploy desktop images.
  • Monitor and maintain file server permissions by performing moves, adds, deletes, and modifications of users for smooth and secure operations.
  • Support implementation of network security and redundancy by providing cryptography to network applications; managing host security, file permissions, backup, and disaster recovery plans to ensure file system integrity.
  • Develop and conduct user training and instructions for program operating systems and applications.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals, such as printers.
  • Troubleshoot to proactively resolve issues and their root causes and respond to technical requests for support.
  • Assess ongoing user experience and take action to resolve issues or to make enhancements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/instructions documentation.
