About the position

The Video Editor/Content Producer role at Pottery Barn is a full-time hybrid position based in San Francisco, CA. This position is integral to the Content team, focusing on creating engaging video content for various platforms, including organic and paid social media. The ideal candidate will bring creative visions to life, manage multiple projects, and ensure that all content aligns with the Pottery Barn brand while staying current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit video content from concept to completion while adhering to brand style guides.
  • Execute seasonal calendar updates based on timelines from cross-functional teams.
  • Gather materials and assets needed for weekly edits.
  • Create final video cuts from captured footage.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Video Content on storyboards and execution.
  • Manage footage and archive clips for current and future use.
  • Create various cuts in length and crop for use on site, social media, and paid ads.
  • Customize video cuts to fit the behaviors of different platforms.
  • Translate the brand into video content, ensuring alignment with Pottery Barn's branding.
  • Execute content database management, including metadata and related media assets.
  • Assist in tracking final assets for content accuracy and reporting.
  • Assist in publishing media content as necessary.
  • Maintain presentation boards related to content shoots, both evergreen and seasonal.
  • Work with business and marketing teams to clarify objectives and ensure campaign accuracy.
  • Stay current on industry trends in video production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in media, retail, or e-commerce environments, preferably with a lifestyle-oriented brand.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in video production, including art direction and shooting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and FTP systems.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and video best practices.
  • Ability to self-direct under ambiguous and changing circumstances.
