About the position
The University of Texas at Austin seeks a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as the next Vice Provost and Director of the University of Texas Libraries. This role is pivotal in advancing the strategic goals of the University and enhancing the impact of the Libraries as a critical contributor to academic research and student success. The ideal candidate will lead the Libraries in a time of transformation, ensuring they continue to provide exceptional services and resources to support the University’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the University of Texas Libraries, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the University.
- Champion and advance the work of the Libraries, promoting their role in research and education.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to enhance library services and resources.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to improve library collections and spaces.
- Foster partnerships within the University and the broader community to enhance library impact.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within an academic library or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of the current and future trends in libraries and higher education.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
- Experience in managing diverse teams and fostering an inclusive work environment.
