About The Position

Goldman Sachs Services LLC is seeking a Vice President, Software Engineering in Dallas, TX. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting data pipelines and highly scalable APIs to provide accurate business data to various business groups within the Firm. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements, and to deliver software that drives business change. The individual will provide data-driven insights and decision-making crucial for the Firm's business processes. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining data distribution infrastructure hosted on cloud platforms like Snowflake, AWS, or GCP, and designing, implementing, and enforcing data governance controls across divisions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in job offered or a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in job offered or a related role.
  • Two (2) years of experience (with a Master’s degree) OR four (4) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s degree) with: Full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
  • Experience with Python or Java.
  • Experience developing and supporting ETL jobs and data pipelines.
  • Experience with Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) including Structured query language (SQL).
  • Experience with control systems including Subversion (SVN) or Git.
  • Experience with Cloud platforms including Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience working with project management tools including JIRA.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and support data pipelines and highly scalable APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that provide accurate business data to other business groups within the Firm.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand new and changing business requirements, document them, and deliver software to drive business change.
  • Provide data-driven insight and decision-making critical to the Firm’s business processes.
  • Develop and maintain data distribution infrastructure hosted on cloud such as Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Design, implement and enforce data governance controls in data processes across divisions.
