About the position

The Vice President, Regional Operations and Strategy at Aspire Public Schools is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence and compliance across the Los Angeles region's schools. This position collaborates closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals, oversee key operational functions, and support strategic planning. The VP will lead the Operations Team, optimize operational structures, and develop systems to enhance efficiency while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to provide strategic planning and operational support for the region.
  • Lead the charter renewal process, ensuring compliance with state deadlines and regulations.
  • Support Aspire LA's strategic priorities, including school site safety and operational compliance.
  • Set the vision and lead the Ops Team to align with the region's strategic objectives.
  • Monitor staffing needs and provide insights on workforce planning.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in partnership with Aspire's Home Office Senior Leadership.
  • Oversee facilities compliance and ensure schools meet safety and operational standards.
  • Monitor and lead the alignment of systems and processes across the region for operational efficiency.
  • Manage operational expenditures and ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Manage the HR Director and ensure policies align with Aspire LA's strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of operational leadership experience, preferably in education or non-profit.
  • Knowledge of California state education laws and CDE compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and change management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a charter school environment.
  • Familiarity with grant-funded programs and compliance reporting.
