About the position

The Vice President of Mission Services is responsible for overseeing, supporting and advocating for high quality spiritual care services throughout the continuum of care and maintaining the on-going relationship with the Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport to ensure the Catholic identity of St. Vincent's Medical Center. The Vice President will promote the advancement of the organization's mission, which includes creating and leading initiatives to shape strategy and culture in accordance with the mission and values of Hartford Healthcare. In addition, the Vice President will develop and maintain relationships with community leaders to ensure equitable availability of health services to underserved communities in the Fairfield region.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of the Community Health Needs Assessment and the Community Health Improvement Plan programs to ensure adherence to IRS 990 regulations
  • Leads all areas of mission services and collaborates in leading charity care and community benefit programs
  • Provides administrative oversight of the Hope Charitable Pharmacy of Greater Bridgeport, Pastoral Care Department and the Parish Nurse program
  • Chair and maintains health equity activities for the region. Leads initiatives related to creating and achieving balanced scorecard goals associated with health equity
  • Provides executive sponsorship to the Ethics Committee to ensure adherence to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care
  • Maintains and nurtures relationship with the Diocese of Bridgeport to ensure fulfillment of the Catholic Tradition agreement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Five plus years demonstrated leadership experience in related health care program management
  • Bioethics Certificate Program from an accredited institution within 18 months of hire
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Catholic theology
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services
  • Strong sense of service orientation and highly skilled at relationship building
  • Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills, effective negotiator who can advocate effectively and build consensus
  • Demonstrated ability to create and sustain an inclusive and equitable environment
  • Strong ability and success with developing and implementing programs and introducing innovative approaches to the workplace, community, and/or profession
  • Demonstrated ability and a strong commitment to innovation, creativity and excellence
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills
