We are currently in search of a Vice President of Executive Operations to join our Executive team! The Vice President of Executive Operations plays a pivotal role in advancing Feed the Children’s mission to end childhood hunger by ensuring organizational alignment, transparency, and progress toward our strategic goals. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this leader advises on the strategic direction of the enterprise; sets and manages the tracking of key organizational performance indicators; leads enterprise-wide project management and progress; elevates staff culture and strategic acumen; and supports board engagement and experience. The Vice President of Executive Operations also partners closely with the Chief of Staff and Communications team on high-impact internal and external communications as well as thought leadership content for the CEO and senior leadership team. This is a highly collaborative and strategic role that bridges vision and execution – helping connect our leadership priorities with the daily work that drives impact for children and families around the world. Note: All qualified candidates nationwide will be considered, however preference will be given to candidates located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 15+ years of experience in communications, strategy, or project management (nonprofit experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated success supporting senior executives or managing enterprise initiatives.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communication plans and managing performance tracking processes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to visualize and articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, executing, and monitoring projects to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint required
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Advise executive leadership on enterprise strategic direction, incorporating macro-environmental trends, sector dynamics, and organizational priorities.
  • Develop strategic frameworks, analyses, and scenarios to inform decision-making and long-term planning (e.g., scenario planning, strategic option modeling, and portfolio trade-offs).
  • Support the design and delivery of enterprise strategy, including storytelling to increase understanding and adoption and translating strategic priorities into actionable plans, measures, and operating rhythms.
  • Lead enterprise-wide tracking and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress toward Feed the Children’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop clear, compelling dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate progress, insights, and strategic implications to internal and external audiences.
  • Support the Chief of Staff and CEO in preparing for leadership meetings and retreats, quarterly strategic updates, and Board engagements.
  • Lead and support the annual strategic planning process and enterprise goal setting, ensuring alignment to long-term strategic direction.
  • Lead development and execution of high-quality communications on behalf of the CEO and Executive Office, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Partner with the Chief of Staff and Communications team to develop polished, executive-ready Board materials, CEO updates, and leadership-facing content.
  • Support development of thought leadership pieces, donor communications, and public-facing messaging that advance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of Board materials, ensuring content is timely, cohesive, professionally presented, and aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Design and support engaging, well-structured Board and Committee meeting experiences, including agendas, discussion framing, and facilitation materials.
  • Develop and continuously improve a strong onboarding experience for Board members, including clear documentation, orientation materials, and early engagement touchpoints.
  • Ensure all Board-related materials and communications are well-organized, documented, and easily accessible, maintaining a high standard of governance and institutional knowledge.
  • Assist in crisis communications or urgent executive response efforts as needed, ensuring timely, thoughtful, and coordinated messaging.
  • Oversee project management and coordination of enterprise-level initiatives that advance strategic priorities.
  • Establish systems and processes to ensure accountability, clarity, and timely progress on cross-functional projects.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to identify barriers, align resources, and accelerate execution.
  • Serve as a connector between departments to promote collaboration and problem-solving across the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief of Staff and executive leadership team, offering strategic counsel and operational insight.
  • Partner with HR to ensure alignment between the mission, values and employee competencies and the strategic plan.
  • Partner on the design and execution of culture-building events and engagement activities that strengthen connection, collaboration, and organizational cohesion.
  • Represent the Executive Office in cross-functional meetings and initiatives as needed.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws including training in job skills; planning, assigning and directing work; evaluating performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
