The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP Empowerment Programs), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for equal rights, seeks a strategic and experienced fundraising leader to serve as Vice President, Institutional Giving. This role is responsible for leading the organization’s institutional fundraising strategy, including partnerships with foundations, corporations, philanthropic institutions, and other grantmaking entities that support the NAACP’s mission and national priorities. This role focuses on pipeline building with an emphasis on expanding the NAACP’s national donor footprint. The Vice President will lead efforts to strengthen pipeline discipline, align fundraising strategies across donor segments, and advance a focused set of high-impact funding opportunities. The Vice President will oversee the development and execution of strategies to secure philanthropic investments that support programmatic initiatives, advocacy efforts, and strategic priorities across the organization. Working across multiple giving channels, the Vice President will also play a key role in supporting high-wealth donor strategies by helping develop and manage a portfolio of principal gifts ($1M+). This includes identifying strategic donor opportunities, coordinating cultivation and solicitation strategies, and supporting the senior leaders in engagement with high-capacity donors, foundations, and corporate leaders. The Vice President will work closely with development leadership, program teams, and executive leadership to strengthen philanthropic partnerships and ensure the NAACP continues to grow and diversify its institutional funding base. The ideal candidate is a strategic fundraising leader with deep experience securing institutional partnerships, building high-impact philanthropic relationships, and leading teams responsible for complex fundraising initiatives.
