About the position

The Vice President, FP&A, should have a passion for collaboration and strategic problem solving. They will partner with ELT and other management team members to develop and maintain the company budget and strategic plans that ensure Stoke achieve its long-term strategic and financial goals. The VP will lead and execute Stoke's financial budgeting and planning processes. They will be responsible for all management reporting and budgetary analyses (e.g., recurring budget-to-actuals), as well as oversee all corporate finance work (e.g., company model, valuation). This position will report into the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the annual budgeting process and quarterly rolling forecast
  • Provide regularly recurring reports that summarize operational results and forecasts, including department performance against financial, strategic and operational targets, with timely communication of opportunities and risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Routinely communicate business, financial, and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics.
  • Identify, interpret and explain budget and expense variances analyze cost variances, actual vs. plan forecast and actual vs. prior period, review with departments.
  • Execute as lead financial reporting preparation of annual, quarterly, monthly management reporting dashboards at corporate, functional, program, and account levels.
  • Partner with BD team to analyze and help evaluate financial aspects of potential partnerships and alliances.
  • Collaborate with the VP, Finance, to ensure adherence to tight timelines and controls as required by SOX guidelines; support accounting in the monthly close process accruals.
  • Oversee development of company financial models for valuation and other purposes.
  • Lead the creation of all financial presentations for executive leadership and board meetings.
  • Oversee scalable financial systems and drive adoption of efficient processes and standards across the company in partnership with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and a team player.
  • Solutions oriented and passionate about problem solving and efficiency
  • A. or B.S. degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, MBA, CPA, CFA preferred.
  • 12+ years of FP&A and/or other finance/accounting experience.
  • Experience supporting commercial and late-stage clinical programs.
  • Experience with NetSuite and preferably Adaptive Insights; advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
