About the position

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancer harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway. The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for leading and evolving the Financial Planning & Analysis function. As a trusted business partner with senior leaders and across functions, they will determine how to support the rapid growth of the business. This role has accountability for managing financial planning, budgeting, consistent reforecasting, management reporting, preparing fact-based analytics, supporting corporate development initiatives, and developing value-add insights and analysis to drive and influence business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company's budgeting and forecasting cycles, working in collaboration with key functional heads and program management to develop and align on budget assumptions and inputs.
  • Be a thought leader and partner with management to drive sound financial decisions and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead and enhance the monthly financial internal reporting package process for senior management and department heads.
  • Lead tracking of actual spend versus budget at corporate, departmental and project levels to help identify and quantify opportunities and risks.
  • Partner closely with CFO on preparing quarterly earnings materials and necessary information to address quarterly results.
  • Lead preparation of ad hoc financial analyses needed to support key business decisions.
  • Serve as the lead finance contact to support research & development and commercial leadership teams.
  • Manage an FP&A team of 10+ & scale FP&A infrastructure to support the growth and evolution of the business.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports and adjacent team members as they continue to develop their skills.
  • Promote a culture of high engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Partner with the accounting team to drive financial discipline, fact-based decision-making, and financial transparency across the company.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15+ years' experience in relevant Finance.
  • Life science background is a must.
  • Experience at a commercial stage company preferred.
  • Strong people leadership on coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Strong analytical and advanced excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with an oncology launch is desired.
  • Serve as business partners to R&D or Commercial functions.
