About The Position

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is a leading national provider of technical and construction services for electric infrastructure. They specialize in medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure and offer integrated capabilities from planning to EPC delivery. The Vice President of EPC Operations — West Region is the most senior operations leader in the West Region and a member of Dashiell’s EPC Operations Leadership Team. This executive is fully accountable for the West Region’s P&L, project execution performance, team development, and market growth. The role involves leading a regional team, coordinating cross-regionally for a unified customer experience and resource sharing, and is based in Houston, Texas, reporting to Dashiell’s Senior Vice President, EPC Operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in EPC project delivery, with significant experience in high-voltage electrical infrastructure, substation construction, or specialty electrical contracting.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership experience, including managing a revenue book and holding direct accountability for financial outcomes.
  • Proven track record of building and developing high-performing project management teams, including identifying and promoting talent from within.
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects and portfolios at varying scales.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience in contract negotiation, risk assessment, change order management, claims avoidance, and value-based pricing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new customer relationships and expand a regional or divisional market presence.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full P&L for the West Region, including revenue, direct labor efficiency, subcontract margins, overhead absorption, and project-level profitability.
  • Drive profitable growth by pursuing and winning work at the right price and monitoring financial performance of all active projects.
  • Engage directly with Directors and Senior Project Managers on distressed projects to identify early warning signals and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in major bid reviews and contract negotiations for strategic or high-risk regional opportunities.
  • Ensure timely execution of billing, invoice approvals, and collections across all West Region projects.
  • Own the identification, planning, and execution of new office openings and market entries within the West Region.
  • Develop expansion business cases based on projected backlog, customer commitments, competitive analysis, and staffing plans.
  • Define and drive accountability towards success milestones for new office locations.
  • Build and deploy the talent required for new locations, balancing internal promotions with external hiring.
  • Maintain awareness of the West Region’s competitive environment, customer development pipeline, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Directors, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Own succession planning for Director and Senior PM roles within the region.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, establish individual development plans, and manage underperformance.
  • Cultivate a regional culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with HR on recruiting, compensation, and retention strategies for the West Region.
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for key West Region customers, engaging at the executive level.
  • Ensure customers with projects in multiple regions experience a consistent, unified Dashiell.
  • Support Project Directors for enterprise-level programs involving West Region projects.
  • Maintain executive-level awareness of the construction, schedule, and commercial status of all active projects in the West Region.
  • Participate in bid review and risk assessment for significant regional pursuits.
  • Engage centralized functions (Safety, Project Controls, Procurement, Construction Management) as partners in regional delivery.
  • Enforce Dashiell’s execution standard, safety requirements, and project controls disciplines.
  • Share insights, best practices, and lessons learned across regions.
  • Contribute to organizational design decisions and support cross-regional resource sharing.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.
