About The Position

GSVS Veterinary Emergency Care Morristown is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians and CVTs/LVTs/RVTs to join their outpatient surgery team. This role is ideal for technicians passionate about surgical nursing, anesthesia monitoring, and providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced specialty environment. The position offers a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends, promoting work-life balance. The hospital, located in northern New Jersey, has been serving the community since 1994 and is committed to providing advanced veterinary care in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • CVT/LVT preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring skills required
  • Experience in surgical patient care required
  • Knowledge of anesthetic protocols, physiology, and patient monitoring
  • Proficiency in laboratory sample collection and processing
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented attitude with a passion for patient advocacy
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service
  • Honest, dependable, and eager to continue learning and growing

  • All current positions require the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing patients for surgical procedures
  • Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
  • Monitoring anesthetic depth, vital signs, and patient stability throughout procedures
  • Maintaining accurate anesthesia and treatment records
  • Calculating drug dosages and anesthesia protocols
  • Placing IV catheters and administering fluid therapy
  • Assisting surgeons during procedures and maintaining sterile technique
  • Preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples for pre-operative testing
  • Assessing and managing patient pain levels
  • Providing attentive nursing care before and after surgery
  • Educating clients on post-operative care and discharge instructions
  • Collaborating closely with veterinarians and support staff to deliver excellent patient care
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked surgical suite
