About the position

The Veterinary Technician Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Wellness, Spay and Neuter, or Shelter Clinic program at the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty. This position supports the Medical Manager and collaborates with other clinic supervisors to ensure high-quality care for all patients. The supervisor also promotes spay and neuter initiatives and educates the public on responsible pet ownership, aligning with the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the clinic program.
  • Support the Medical Manager in clinic management.
  • Collaborate with other clinic supervisors to ensure quality patient care.
  • Promote spay and neuter programs and educate the public on pet ownership.
  • Train and develop veterinary technician staff.
  • Address disciplinary issues in partnership with the Medical Manager.
  • Identify and model proper safety practices and protocols.
  • Seek continuous learning opportunities in veterinary medicine.
  • Identify inefficiencies in processes and recommend solutions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a veterinary technician required.
  • Previous experience in a training or managerial role preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with new software.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous learning in veterinary medicine.
  • Ability to demonstrate mastery of routine technician skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a veterinary setting.
  • Strong presentation skills.
