Veterinary Technician or Assistant

About the position

Toms River Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our one-of-a-kind 7-doctor GP Practice! Our hospital has been serving the Toms River community for over 65 years. We are AAHA-accredited and believe in providing the best possible care to our patients. Responsibilities

• Assisting Veterinarians with appointments
• Assisting Veterinarians with surgeries and anesthetic dentistries
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Maintaining medical records
• Filling prescriptions
• Providing compassionate care and a 'home away from home' for hospitalized pets
• Providing exceptional customer service for our clients

Requirements

• Experience as a veterinary technician/assistant is required; credentialed (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred but not required
• Experience in emergency medicine, surgery, and dentistry
• A positive, encouraging and supportive attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility in hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness and capability to be cross-trained in reception and kennel
• Working knowledge of computers
• Team player mindset, willing to learn new techniques and treatments
