About The Position
The Veterinary Technician/Assistant position at Plaistow Kingston Animal Medical Center is a full-time role dedicated to providing high-quality care for small animals. Located in Kingston, New Hampshire, this facility supports a team of two veterinarians, four technicians, two customer service representatives, and one veterinary assistant. This role does not require weekend work, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. In this position, the veterinary technician/assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the operation of the animal hospital. These tasks include performing phlebotomy, educating clients on vaccination and wellness protocols, conducting nail trims, and assisting with anal gland expression. Additionally, the candidate will need to have a solid understanding of surgical and dental protocols, which includes drug calculations, anesthesia induction and monitoring, intubation, surgical preparation, dental scaling, polishing, and dental radiography. Familiarity with veterinary computer software, specifically Avimark, is also required. The hospital is willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in veterinary technology.
