About the position
The Veterinary Rehabilitation Assistant position at Pawsitive Steps Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine involves providing support in veterinary physical medicine services, rehabilitation therapy, sports medicine, and pain management for small animal patients. The role is focused on delivering exceptional care in a low-stress environment, ensuring that rehabilitation is enjoyable for the patients. This is a full-time permanent position with no late nights or weekends, aimed at individuals with a strong work ethic and a passion for animal care.
Responsibilities
- Patient restraint
- Assisting LVTs with performing specific treatments such as cold laser therapy
- Assisting patients in the underwater treadmill and monitoring of patients
- Updating patient records
- Keeping up on facility maintenance (laundry, cleaning, filters, etc.)
- Providing support to client service staff (answering phones, paperwork, etc.)
Requirements
- At least one year of previous veterinary experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to provide excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Ability to thrive in high stress situations
- Effective team member with a positive attitude
- Efficient time management skills
- Physical ability to transition from sitting to standing without assistance
- Ability to restrain an animal while sitting/kneeling/crouching
- Demonstrate necessary dexterity in hands and fingers
