About the position
The Assistant Director of Finance at The Driskill, part of the Hyatt family, is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the hotel's finance operations. This position supports the Director of Finance and is essential in ensuring that the finance department aligns with Hyatt's corporate standards while meeting the expectations of guests, colleagues, and owners. The role offers an excellent opportunity for leadership development, preparing the individual for a future Director of Finance position.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the hotel on-site finance team and off-site Shared Services support staff to ensure compliance with Hyatt standards.
- Supervise daily Finance, Purchasing, and Information Technology functions, including training, coaching, and evaluating colleagues.
- Prepare and review journal entries necessary for month-end closing.
- Review and approve group credit applications and assist in accounts receivable collections.
- Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist the Leadership Committee with required report presentations.
- Attend Leadership Committee meetings, strategy meetings, and asset management meetings.
- Manage the internal audit and year-end audit process, including preparation, review, and approval of reconciliations and audit work papers.
- Facilitate special reporting and analysis projects as requested.
Requirements
- Hospitality or Accounting degree preferred.
- 5 years or more of Hotel Finance management experience required.
- Prior expertise in Oracle, Opera, MICROS, Dimensions, and Hyatt systems desired.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- High energy and motivated leader with effective communication skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and improve the bottom line.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
