About the position

The Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator II at Vallen is responsible for managing and delivering inventory to customer sites, ensuring accuracy in shipments, and maintaining effective communication with clients and team members. This role involves both physical and administrative tasks related to inventory management, including driving company vehicles, setting up inventory areas, and performing VMI functions at vending points. The position emphasizes teamwork, customer service, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Drive company commercial vehicles to transport and deliver goods to designated locations safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of shipments to customers.
  • Assist with VMI customer space/placement and set up areas to receive shipments.
  • Follow customer orders from pick-up at the warehouse to delivery and setup at customer sites.
  • Take customer spot buy orders and relay information to the CSR or Account Rep.
  • Scan barcodes at customer sites to generate customer orders.
  • Perform VMI functions at vending point of use areas, including loading and receiving materials.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory levels and report observations to management.
  • Recommend changes to customer inventory levels based on usage.
  • Ensure barcode labels are up to date and legible.
  • Assist in annual inventory counts on consigned items.
  • Respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years' relevant experience or training in warehouse, inventory counting, or delivery
  • Valid driver's license that complies with Vallen's standards
  • Willingness to learn and work on semi-routine assignments
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with supervision
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions in various forms
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks correctly and timely
  • Proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with customers and co-workers
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of company products
  • Ability to represent Vallen professionally.
