About The Position

A Vehicle Processor inspects vehicles towed to Baltimore City’s impoundment lot and records intake and vehicle identification information for accountability purposes. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a five-day workweek including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis and are subject to 24-hour shift work and callback on a rotating basis. Work is performed primarily outdoors where employees may be exposed to inclement weather, dusty, muddy or slippery conditions and contaminants. Work requires regular moderate physical exertion including stretching and climbing up and down steps and ramps to reach vehicles.

Requirements

Graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
One year of experience in office support work.
Valid Maryland Class C Non-Commercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and eligible to obtain a Baltimore City driver’s permit.
Knowledge of basic computer functions.
Skill in reading and accurately transferring data from initial source to written form and computerized database.
Observational skills.
Ability to observe and accurately record findings.
Ability to write legibly.
Ability to communicate orally.
Ability to operate common Window-based business application software.
Ability to enter, verify and correct data entry errors.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
