About the position
The Vascular Sonographer Technician II is responsible for performing standard non-invasive vascular exams, demonstrating knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound principles. This role requires the ability to recognize adequate and inadequate vascular exams and to understand the indications for specific vascular procedures. The technician will work in a dynamic environment, contributing to patient care through accurate diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
- Complete standard non-invasive vascular exams.
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate indications for specific vascular exams.
- Recognize and distinguish between adequate and inadequate vascular exams.
- Understand normal peripheral vascular anatomy and physiology.
- Apply basic ultrasound principles pertaining to vascular studies.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Cardiovascular/Vascular ultrasound program or equivalent experience required.
- ARDMS registry eligible required within the first year of employment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- One year of work experience in performing vascular ultrasound procedures preferred.
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology and hemodynamics desired.
