Responsibilities

  • Perform construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of streets.
  • Conduct maintenance of stormwater curb inlets and baskets.
  • Operate storm inlets and storm baskets, potentially overseeing unskilled employees.
  • Assist in cleaning storm lines and storm systems using a Vactor truck.
  • Work under adverse weather conditions and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Requirements

  • Utility Service Worker I: Ability to read, write, and follow instructions; six months of experience in road construction or related fields.
  • Utility Service Worker II: High school graduate with two years' experience in road construction, including storm drain construction and concrete work; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B may be required depending on assignment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Tanker endorsement within six months of hire.
  • Experience in public works maintenance and construction repairs of stormwater inlets.
