Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers to install and repair underground utilities.
• Prepare work sites by clearing debris, leveling terrain, and ensuring proper access for machinery.
• Install, maintain, and repair underground utilities, including water, sewer, gas, and electrical lines.
• Conduct excavation work to create trenches for utility installation while adhering to safety standards and regulations.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
• Maintain records of work performed, including installation details, maintenance schedules, and any issues encountered.
• Collaborate with other construction personnel and utility workers to ensure efficient project execution.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Train new operators or laborers in safe operating procedures and equipment use.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating equipment in heavy civil construction projects.
• Strong understanding of operating techniques, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and specifications.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
