About the position

The Utilities Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in compliance with FDA and cGMP specifications. This role involves troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting in-process analyses. The operator will also develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train other unit specialists, ensuring efficient and safe operations within the plant utilities and clean utilities departments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment under FDA and cGMP specifications.
• Record information accurately per batch records and procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment or conditions and make recommendations to engineers and management.
• Perform area Preventive Maintenance (PM's) and Work Orders (WO's) on equipment and record time in SAP.
• Develop and revise SOPs and train other Unit Specialists.
• Conduct in-process analysis including pH, conductivity, spectrophotometry, and titration.
• Monitor the Console control board, investigate alarms, and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform housekeeping to maintain a clean and hazard-free area.
• Understand GIPSM chemicals and handling procedures.
• Participate in team activities and provide constructive coaching.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or related process operation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of initiative and motivation.
• Good interpersonal skills, planning, organization, and prioritization.
