UTHSCH Medical Records Technician

About the position

InGenesis is currently seeking a Medical Records Technician to work with our client. In this role, you will ensure physical documentation is accounted for according to Medicaid/Medicare and organizational guidelines to facilitate payment for services.

Responsibilities

• Locates and retrieves records to accurately audit and verify patient information.
• Updates client charts with information in a timely manner.
• Audits charts, records, and record documentation deficiencies for attending physicians to correct.
• Track location of charts using appropriate software.
• Respond to information requests either in person or by telephone in a timely manner.
• As requested, locate and make ready charts or information from charts in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience as a medical records technician
• Knowledge of basic office software
