About the position
The Urgent Care Veterinarian at Wareham Animal Hospital is responsible for providing medical care and treatment to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and exotics. This role involves diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing surgical procedures, and collaborating with veterinary technicians to ensure quality patient care. The position offers a supportive environment for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with opportunities for training and development.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical care and treatment to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, exotics, and other small animals.
- Perform sick and stable patient consultations, check-ups, vaccinations, and care measures.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and diseases in animals.
- Conduct surgical procedures as necessary.
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to ensure quality patient care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree.
- Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the state.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
