Responsibilities

  • Work closely with management and actuarial students in support of major departmental functions.
  • Provide modeling experience, gather and compile data from various sources, design and maintain databases, and produce reports for internal and external uses.
  • Projects may include modeling provider payments and discounts, redesigning a forecasting model, building an Access database to track provider performance, converting reserve models to new software, and preparing yearly financial statements.
  • Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
  • Communicate with management regarding development within assigned areas and perform special projects as required or requested.
  • Create a final internship PowerPoint presentation to share with department leadership covering the internship experience, assigned project results, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or other relevant fields.
  • Graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Completion of or plan to complete 1 ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) exam by graduation.
  • Availability to work 10 weeks during the summer (June 2025- August 2025).
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Practical, developed technical skills, especially in Excel, Access, SQL, and Visual Basic.
