About the position

The University Ministries Assistant will further the disciple-making mission and strategy of Spiritual Life by providing general administrative support and ministry coordination for the Spiritual Life Office and support for the Spiritual Life staff. This position involves performing various duties including administrative support for the Director of Discipleship, Director of Digital Ministry, Assistant Director of Discipleship, Athletic Chaplain, and discipleship staff. Responsibilities include assisting with ministry processes, project management, logistical coordination for events, and maintaining databases.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for the Director of Discipleship, Director of Digital Ministry, Assistant Director of Discipleship, Athletic Chaplain, and discipleship staff.
  • Assists with Spiritual Life ministry processes, functions, and projects.
  • Assists in ministry project management through logistical coordination and support of ministry events such as SL groups, SL retreats, and SL conferences.
  • Provides logistical support for North American Mission Board (NAMB) partnership service projects.
  • Provides administrative assistance for SL events including scheduling of space and on-campus services.
  • Develops/maintains databases, tracks data and other metrics, assists with assessment initiatives.
  • Participates in Spiritual Life, University Ministry, Discipleship, and marketing staff and planning meetings.
  • Works closely with Spiritual Life Media Assistant to track and report marketing goals.
  • Executes credit card reconciliations, requisitions, reimbursements, work orders, online purchasing orders, and cash advances.
  • Assists Office Manager in maintaining staff computer inventory, keys, badge access, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to live and uphold the University's Christ-centered mission and values.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Thorough knowledge of Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
