About the position

The Universal Banker I position at Home Bank is responsible for performing routine branch operations while building long-term customer relationships through efficient customer service. This role specializes in teller operations and involves assisting with account maintenance functions to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Handle lobby, drive-thru, night deposit, or bank-by-mail customer transactions accurately and promptly.
• Perform cash handling duties including counting, verifying, and packaging coins and currency, and balancing the cash drawer.
• Assist with daily vault duties and may act as back-up to the Head Teller.
• Process daily teller work through 'Branch Capture' to ensure debits and credits balance according to policies.
• Provide comprehensive and efficient customer service in all transactions.
• Engage with customers to build relationships and determine financial needs, making recommendations as necessary.
• Achieve assigned branch and line of business referral goals to contribute to banking center success.
• Communicate effectively with customers and employees, both verbally and in writing.
• Mentor newly hired team members in support of the ONE TEAM model.
• Maintain a neat workstation and ensure supplies are organized.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• General cash handling, sales, and customer service experience; previous banking experience preferred.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work expected Banking Center hours, including Saturdays.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods.
• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes for office tasks.
• Ability to see, hear, talk, walk, and use arms and hands for processing transactions and counting money.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
