About the position
The Ultrasound Technologist at HCA Florida Westside Hospital is responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ultrasound examinations for diagnosis. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative while ensuring high-quality patient care and comfort. The technologist will assess and treat patients across various age groups, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development and understanding the range of treatment needed for these patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations as prescribed for diagnosis.
- Ensure patient care and comfort during procedures.
- Assess and treat patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Obtain and interpret information based on patient needs.
- Maintain knowledge of growth and development relevant to patient care.
Requirements
- Current Certification as Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Current BLS issued by American Heart Association.
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound School.
- Successful completion of an ARDMS approved training.
