About the position

The position involves operating ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body as directed by a physician. The role requires maintaining a professional image and exhibiting excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers, in line with the organization's Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Additionally, the position entails ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and performing necessary administrative responsibilities to maintain accreditation by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. The individual will report clinically to the physician and clinical supervisor, while administrative concerns will be directed to the office manager.

Responsibilities

  • Operates ultrasound equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by a physician.
  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Ensures all regulatory standards are met and performs administrative responsibilities necessary to maintain accreditation by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
  • Reports clinically to the physician and clinical supervisor if applicable, and reports appropriate administrative concerns to the office manager.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology or formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
  • Active Certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty as appropriate.
