About The Position

Our Lady of the Lake is seeking a PRN Premium Ultrasonographer to join their team. This role involves performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, ensuring patient safety and quality care, and collaborating with other departments. The position also includes performing duties of a Radiology Transporter as needed and participating in educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Makes adjustments to equipment for proper technique, maintains supplies, and develops film.
• Schedules examinations, coordinates with other areas, and maintains responsibility for coverage and call back services.
• Performs high-quality ultrasound examinations, maintains records, and generates accurate reports.
• Prepares patients for examinations by explaining procedures, providing instructions, obtaining history and consent, and assisting with transfers and positioning.
• Provides compassionate and dignified patient care.
• Verifies and ensures the quality of all patient examinations and assists in maintaining quality assurance standards.
• Ensures work areas and examination rooms are adequately stocked, cleaned, and disinfected.
• QA and verifies all work performed on the radiology computer system.
• Observes and adheres to federal and state radiation safety guidelines and departmental and hospital policies.
• Performs the duties of a Radiology Transporter as needed.
• Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, and training sessions.
• Contributes to student education and supervision and maintains knowledge of competency-based clinical education plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
