About The Position

Tutors provide academic support to Yavapai College students through one-on-one and small group sessions. Support may be offered in person or virtually. Tutors help students build confidence, improve understanding of course content, and develop effective study strategies and learning habits.

Requirements

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher with at least 12 academic credits completed
• Grade of B or higher in the subject(s) to be tutored
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English.
• Proficiency with basic technology tools like Microsoft Office
• All tutors are required to complete CRLA Level 1 tutor certification through Yavapai College's Tutoring Services as part of their onboarding and ongoing employment, unless they have already completed CRLA Level 1 elsewhere

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Previous tutoring experience or CRLA certification
• Experience working with diverse student populations in a college setting
