About the position
The Tumor Registrar role at MaineHealth is a fully remote position responsible for the identification, collection, and management of health, medical, and outcome information on oncology patients. This includes abstracting and coding specific patient, cancer, and treatment information from various sources and maintaining and updating existing patient records annually.
Responsibilities
- Identify and collect health, medical, and outcome information on oncology patients.
- Abstract and code specific patient, cancer, and treatment information from various sources.
- Maintain and update existing patient records annually.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Biomedical, Medical Technician or Medical Records or equivalent work experience in medical coding or cancer registry required.
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) Certification required.
- Relevant healthcare experience preferred.
