About the position

The Tub & Cube Line Operator at Pellet Technology USA is responsible for assisting in the operation of the plant during the night shift. This role involves working on the plant floor and in the laboratory, requiring a basic understanding of industrial plant operations and mechanical aptitude. The operator will follow production schedules to ensure the safe and efficient production of distillers cubes and supplemental tubs, while also maintaining compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of PTUSA's plant operations as determined by the staff of PTUSA.
  • Operate and understand the plant operations through the communications of a MMI (Man-Machine-Interface) operating system.
  • Sample plant streams to check operating conditions.
  • Make key observations of operations to effectively develop, improve, troubleshoot, and make changes to processes and products.
  • Keep records on batch runs, ingredient usage, and inventories.
  • Sample process streams for analysis.
  • Communicate with staff, lab tech, and Nutritionists on the status of plant operations.
  • Maintain a team environment with operations and all other departments.
  • Work with and maintain good public relations towards customers, transportation carriers, and the public on transactions of products.
  • Maintain plant records and generate written reports as needed.
  • Input data into programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and other company-provided software programs.
  • Comply with PTUSA and OSHA safety regulations at all times.
  • Keep work areas and the plant clean and orderly.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to contribute to the development of Pellet Technology USA.
  • Ensure the production of safe animal feed and adherence to internal policies and procedures to comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of specialized study or trade preferred.
  • Previous or similar experience related to production/plant experience in ethanol, enzymes, pharmaceutical, or other biochemical industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with operations of mechanical equipment common to fermentation pilot and production plants preferred.
  • Experience in utilizing plant process control systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of basic analytical methods and equipment would be beneficial.
