About the position

The Test Engineer Advisor at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) will work with cutting-edge applications to support the FDA contract in the Technology Shared Services (TSS) group. This hybrid position involves performing testing of Appian software, collaborating with technology teams, and ensuring that testing methodologies meet industry standards. The role emphasizes automation in testing processes and requires participation in Agile software development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test and testing requirements for products, systems, software, and related technology.
• Partner with applicable technology teams to determine testing parameters.
• Write test plans and create test cases for products.
• Conduct quality assurance and design performance tests using established testing procedures.
• Provide troubleshooting for moderately complex testing errors and streamline testing procedures.
• Ensure testing methodology and procedures meet company and industry standards.
• Build and execute automated tests.
• Prepare reports and advanced analysis for testing.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and best practices relevant to the industry.
• Provide guidance and leadership to less experienced personnel.
• Participate in Agile software development initiatives to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testing.
• Collaborate with team members to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases.
• Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management systems.
• Provide early exploratory testing during the development phase.
• Design, code, and deploy automated test scripts.
• Maintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline.

Requirements

• Master's degree with 8 years of experience, Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience, Associate's degree with 12 years of experience, or 14 years of experience with no degree.
• Significant experience testing Appian software.
• Proficient in different software testing methodologies.
• Conceptual knowledge of Agile integration, working as part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum or Kanban.
• Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies.
• Ability to test applications developed with commercial-off-the-shelf products.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision and as part of a larger team.
• Ability to manage multiple task assignments.
• Collaborative team player who works well with customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Quality and detail focused.
• Ability to obtain and maintain FDA Public Trust Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with testing ServiceNow, Salesforce.
• Experience with programming in Java / C#, JavaScript or equivalent programming language.
• 2+ years with AWS, JMeter, Postman, API tools.
• Experience with Automation Testing Tools such as Automated Test Frame (ATF), Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience in building and maintaining testing frameworks.
• Developed testing processes and procedures and formal test plans.
