About the position

The Truss Designer position involves creating component designs for shop fabrication, focusing on residential, commercial, and lite multi-family roof and floor systems. The role requires collaboration with internal and external customers to ensure design accuracy and exceptional customer service. The position is remote-friendly, allowing for flexibility in work location.

Responsibilities

  • Create component designs for shop fabrication based on customer and project information.
  • Design residential, commercial, and lite multi-family roof and floor systems using Alpine software.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to ensure accuracy on estimates.
  • Maintain job-related files, including project statuses and electronic filing.
  • Use critical thinking skills to resolve architectural and design discrepancies.
  • Create and update component designs for prefabrication shop and field installation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with accurate and timely information.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years in truss design.
  • Ability to operate a computer and use the Microsoft Suite; quick learner of proprietary design software.
  • Alpine software experience is a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • College education in architectural design, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work as a team and help motivate others.
  • Excellent attendance history and strong work ethic.
