About The Position

Operates a straight truck with a gross vehicle weight between 1.5 to 4 tons (typically 6 wheels) to transport materials, merchandise, or equipment between locations. Ensures safe, timely, and efficient delivery while complying with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and procedures. Loads / unloads truck securing cargo properly. Performs vehicle inspections as necessary. Completes required paperwork, including delivery receipts, logs, maintenance reports. Performs basic vehicle maintenance and reports mechanical issues promptly. Follow all Department of Transportation regulations, safety protocols, and site-specific rules. May need to operate material handling equipment. Maintain a clean vehicle and safe driving record. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors via radio or phone. Need to lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of commercial or truck driving experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read maps, follow directions, and use basic navigation tools.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Must have a successful background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred education: Some vocational or commercial driving training.
  • Valid state Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
