Traveling Project Manager
About The Position
The Traveling Project Manager will be responsible for managing personnel, coordinating project schedules, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing regular project status reports to internal teams. This role requires experience with HVAC systems and project management, along with a strong understanding of project management methodologies. The position involves travel to different markets around the country, excluding locations further west than the Central Time Zone and south of Florida. The role includes both office and field work, with office tasks required before and after field hours to complete project responsibilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as an HVAC Project Manager.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and maintenance requirements.
- Strong understanding of project management principles.
- Experience with RFI submittals.
- Experience overseeing remote projects.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong attention to detail with paperwork.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with project management software.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, PMP / PMI or related training.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Develop detailed project plans and timelines.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Lead HVAC technicians and subcontractors.
- Communicate regularly with clients and internal Dynaire teams.
- Resolve conflicts and ensure client satisfaction.
- Supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Conduct site inspections and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment.
- Monitor labor costs and project expenditures.
- Negotiate contracts and timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress.
- Report regularly to the HVAC Operations Manager, Finance Team, and President.
