About the position

The Traveling Foreman at Durable Slate Company is responsible for overseeing preservation and restoration projects across various job sites nationwide. This role involves coordinating efforts between the field and office, ensuring that projects are executed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. The Traveling Foreman supports the Project Manager in managing information flow, scheduling, and compliance with safety protocols, while also maintaining relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and maintaining job site logistics and conditions.
  • Ensure safety protocols are in place and followed.
  • Maintain daily site documents including JHA's, AHA's, and Daily Logs.
  • Maintain job progress photos.
  • Coordinate with the PM to ensure adequate field personnel are scheduled and on-site.
  • Work with PM on developing, monitoring, updating and maintaining the project schedule.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of scopes of work under contract and ensure any additional work is approved before proceeding.
  • Coordinate with PM and Project Engineer to ensure approved products and methods are accurately followed.
  • Oversee scheduling, safety, documentation, and quality of work of subcontractors.
  • Ensure changes to project files, plans, specifications, and as-built documents are transmitted to PE.
  • Ensure job costs are kept to a minimum and accurately accounted for.
  • Support the PM in establishing and maintaining relationships with Owner's representatives, design professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Act as a liaison between jobsite trades, subcontractors, and the PM.
  • Assist the PM and PE in managing and maintaining project-specific information systems.
  • Assist the PM in communication of schedule revisions to all parties.

Requirements

  • Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related major preferred.
  • 3+ years of construction experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Procore.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 - Outlook, Word, Excel, Project and other web-based tools and systems.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software is a plus.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve, effectively prioritize, and drive processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-phase project environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to identify and implement more efficient practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read architectural/engineering drawings and specifications.
