About the position

MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist for a travel position in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role is designed for an Allied Health Professional who is ready to take on the challenges of providing respiratory care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with various breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. You will maintain accurate and legible patient records, and your ability to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals will be essential in promoting good customer relations. This position is not only about technical skills but also about compassion and the ability to educate patients and caregivers about therapy methods and objectives. This travel position is expected to last for 13 weeks, with a start date of September 15, 2024. The role involves working 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift schedule. As a travel Respiratory Therapist, you will have the opportunity to explore new locations while providing essential care to patients in need. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.
  • Provide respiratory care to patients per physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and/or implementation of patient care plans.
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practice guidelines.
  • Maintain and promote good customer relations; communicate with management, coworkers, facility staff, patients, patients' family members, and other caretakers in a professional manner.
  • Provide instruction to patients and other caretakers in the methods and objectives of therapy.
  • Prepare and update patient records accurately and legibly.

Requirements

  • Respiratory Therapist credential by the NBRC required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Eighteen months of respiratory care experience preferred, ideally in a critical care setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a critical care setting is preferred.
