About the position
The Travel Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) will provide specialized care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures. This role involves monitoring vital signs and delivering necessary care to both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring a safe and effective recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Provide post-operative care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient needs during recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Communicate with patients and their families regarding care plans and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a PACU or similar recovery setting.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patients.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience with various anesthesia techniques and recovery protocols.
