About the position
The Operating Room (OR) Nurse will provide comprehensive care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role involves educating patients and collaborating with the surgical team, including circulating nurses, scrub nurses, and potentially serving as an RN first assistant or working with the operating room director.
Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to patients.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and recovery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes during surgery.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in an operating room setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR).
- Experience with specific surgical procedures relevant to the assignment.
