About the position

The Labor and Delivery Nurse (RN) position involves providing care to women during labor and childbirth, ensuring the health and safety of both the mother and the baby. This role includes monitoring vital signs, coaching mothers through the birthing process, and assisting with post-delivery care, including breastfeeding support. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various locations, adapting to different healthcare environments while delivering essential maternal care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health and vital signs of mothers and newborns during labor and delivery.
• Assist in the birthing process by coaching mothers and providing emotional support.
• Prepare families for the stages of childbirth and educate them on post-delivery care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure the best outcomes for mothers and babies.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or similar specialty certification.
• Bilingual skills to communicate with a diverse patient population.
