About the position
Aya Healthcare is seeking a PreOp Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Patchogue, NY. This role involves providing preoperative care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort before surgery. The position requires a comprehensive skill set in various surgical techniques and procedures, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative care to patients preparing for surgery.
- Assist in various surgical procedures as a scrub nurse.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before surgery.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and preoperative care.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification is required.
- At least one year of experience in a surgical setting is required.
- Proficient in a wide range of surgical procedures including but not limited to trauma, thoracotomy, VATS, and robotic surgeries.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System is preferred.
- Familiarity with various surgical specialties such as orthopedic, gynecological, and urological surgeries.
