About the position
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) position is a travel nursing role based in Appleton, WI, requiring a commitment to a 13-week contract. The role involves providing specialized nursing care in the operating room, focusing on orthopedic, pain management, and neurosurgery procedures. The position is full-time with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, ensuring a 1:1 patient ratio for optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the operating room for orthopedic, pain management, and neurosurgery cases.
- Administer moderate sedation as required during procedures.
- Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation and record-keeping.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and effective care delivery.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes during surgery.
Requirements
- Wisconsin RN license is required.
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS certifications are mandatory.
- Associate's degree in nursing is required.
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in the operating room is required.
- Experience with orthopedic and neurosurgery cases is required.
- Epic charting system experience is required.
