About the position

Supplemental Health Care is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Long Term Acute Care for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. This position is designed for Registered Nurses who are looking to work in a Long Term Acute Care facility, which focuses on providing care for patients with complex medical needs who require extended hospitalization. The role is critical as RNs will be responsible for delivering nursing care within their scope of practice and in accordance with the standards of the facility. The average stay at an LTAC facility is approximately 25 days, and RNs often care for their patients from admission to discharge, allowing for the development of meaningful connections with patients and their families. The contract for this position is for 13 weeks, with the possibility of extension, and requires the nurse to work 36 hours per week on a night shift schedule. The compensation for this role ranges from $1,944 to $2,116 per week, which may include both taxable wages and tax-free reimbursements for meals, housing, and incidentals. Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care within the scope of practice and in accordance with facility standards.
  • Care for patients from admission to discharge in a Long Term Acute Care setting.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN License or Compact State Nursing License.
  • 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience.
  • Previous LTAC experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Long Term Acute Care setting is preferred.
  • Additional certifications in nursing specialties.
