About the position
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Staff Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing critical care to patients with life-threatening medical conditions. These nurses work in the critical care unit of hospitals or healthcare facilities, caring for patients who have undergone invasive surgeries, experienced trauma, or are suffering from organ failure. The role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients with life-threatening medical conditions in the ICU.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in critical care or ICU nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) is a plus.
